The Kingdom of God Is Among Us

Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst.” (Luke 17:20-21)

I enjoyed your presentation this morning. I learned much about the kingdom of God, the now and not yet concept, from your New Testament class. It was a great class by the way.

You said in this video that Jesus is among us now. I’ve often wondered about the following which relates to that idea:
Scripture says that Jesus is seated at the right hand of God, and making intercession for us. And of course Scripture also says that where two or three are gathered in My name, Jesus is there with them.

I am guessing that those two scriptures are true because Jesus is omnipresent, an attribute of God that He set aside while on earth in the incarnation? Correct?

Not only correct, Michael. Super-insightful! How amazing to know that we have more than just a loving friend by our side. He’s also the King of heaven! A friend with infinite power who happens to love us. Wow. I also like the way that Christ’s presence with us IS the Kingdom come. The King and Kingdom are bound together.
