Brokenness and Weight Loss

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”″ align=”center” title=”The 7 Habits and Weight Loss Week”][vc_cta h2=”Today”]

Is your self-image wrapped up with the number you see on the scale?
Is it possible you’re trying to fill an emptiness with food that only God can fill?
Let God meet you where you are, whatever the number is, right in the middle of your discontent.

Key Verse

God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
(Matthew 5:3)

Dear God, I accept ___________. Teach me to make it a doorway to a deeper life.

Yes absolutely brokenness and issues around weight are connected , how can they not be connected ? Brokenness , rejection, relationships, weight are all a big messed up bundle of sin….. and it hurts ! However as much as it hurts it also opens the door for a deeper more intimate relationship with God who doesn’t reject us , he doesn’t suddenly pack up and leave us because we don’t measure up somehow , he truly loves us. He wants more for us than the frustration and disappointment that comes with the struggle of weight loss and reminds us that our identity must be in him. If our identity is in anything or anyone else other than him there is despair but in him there is such deep and abiding love and hope.
