Rest in Marriage

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”″ align=”center” title=”Wholeness in Marriage Week”][vc_cta h2=”Today”]

Here’s the link to the Youtube video mentioned above:

Do one thing today to help your spouse celebrate being who they are.
A sincere compliment might do the trick.
Maybe a gift.
Maybe a prayer.

Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Dear God, I rest in your wholeness.

Loved listening to Alain Botton’s desertation on Romanticism. Whether to my betterment or to my disadvantage, I grew up with both narrow and jaded views on love, marriage and romance. Now, I believe much of what I learned from my formative adolescent to young adult years was not only someone else’s ideas, they were also erred.

I appreciate Maury’s sharing this video; it continues to prove that in order to be truly functional as a Believer in today’s society, we earnestly have to think outside that proverbial box of church orthodoxy – even if such thinking .might be influenced by those “outside” our usual communities-of-reference. Thank you Maury.

I’m really glad you liked the Youtube video. I shared it immediately with my three kids. There is a lot of myth tied up with courtship and marriage in our culture. It sets us up for failure.
